Early May in MN

Black-capped Chickadee
Spring is trying to get here to Minnesota.  We have a few waterfowl, few shorebirds, sparrows, and the start of some warblers.  Sounds like many species still trying to make their way north.  The census from this past weekend "feels" more like late April, so hope we still get to see some of the migrants before they reach their breeding grounds to our north.

American Tree Sparrows

Winter is fairly bleak here in MN.  However, we do have a few migrants  here these cold months worth taking note.  American Tree Sparrows are a favorite of mine.  In the second photo, you can see that spot on the chest and the bi-colored bill well.
